And finally...our pictures have been posted! Wedding photos as well as from our honeymoon.
We thank you to all who got to share our day with us and wish we could have invited more!
I think I can safely say life is getting back to normal. We're back in the states. Moms are happy. 'Kids' all settled back into their routines. The houses are organized and clean again. Booze has been drunk. Cake has been eaten (and frozen). Photos are sorted. Thank you's are in the mail.

The outer islands of Venice are a dazzling spectrum of color whether in the renowned hand blown glass of Murano or brightly painted buildings on Burano. Our trip included a tour of a glass factory where we were quickly identified as a DINK couple (Double Income / No Kids) and escorted off to a private gallery by our guide. After pricing a couple of pieces, we disappointed our guide by leaving empty handed...so much for the DINK theory... Thank you to Diane, Jimmy and Nicole for the tour which included a ride to the islands on a private water taxi! Another day later I have to eat my words about Florence after a day on electric bikes touring to city and countryside. The city does have its charm and we definitely found it. While our posteriors are still sore from a day on the bikes we thoroughly enjoyed the tour. And the bikes, well, they were a blast! Thank you to Matt and Cheryl for the electric tour! Florence ranks right up there with Milan when it comes to cleanliness and charm...which isn't saying much. Thank goodness there are many museums and works of art that take you off the streets and out of the crowds! Thankfully, too, that it's a stepping stone for other beautiful cities and towns...like Siena and San Gimignano. We went for a day trip to both those cities which were amazing! Thank you, Leslie, for ensuring we didn't miss these incredible cities!!! While we loved Siena, San Gimignano stole our hearts as we both imagined retiring there some day. Seated on the train to Florence, sorting through photos of our trip thus far, I'm sad to think we're leaving Venice so soon. The canals, shops, gondolas, churches, art...all so beautiful. I am, however, looking forward to our high speed train...and it had better be fast! A BIG thank you to Joe for the 1st class upgrades :))) Ah, Venice... The sun came out today lighting up the city of romance and making our walk much more enjoyable. We toured St. Marks Basilica, Piazza San Marco, Campo Santa Margherita, the Peggy Guggenheim Museum, Santa Maria de Salute church, and explored the Grand Canal and endless streets and canals. And gelato! Can't forget to mention the gelato! Now, we're kicking back with a bottle of wine while we map out our trip to the outter islands tomorrow. We timed our trip a mere ten days before the tourist season starts here in Varenna. Though the town seems abandoned we're finding that we're experiencing the best this charming lakeside village has to offer. An upgraded room...restaurants to ourselves...romantic walkways around the lake. Upon arriving at Varenna and seeing the mist hanging over the lake, we thought our stay here was doomed. That couldn't be farther than the truth. The mist over the lake brings a serene beauty to Lake Como and the quaint town of Varenna. While we might not be able to go on The George Tour boat tour, we're intent on enjoying as much as we can! Geez...a rainy day on our honeymoon, what are we to do?
